Starting with her series “Pyro” in primary colors, Patricia Lambertus expands the series to include works in secondary colors . Here, too, her interest lies less in the game itself than in the moment when the stadium is transformed into its own experiential space by smoke, light, and dense air – a “Turner moment” in which color and atmosphere overlay form.

The digital prints are based on a multitude of found photographs from football stadiums, which Lambertus digitally manipulates and precisely assembles. She avoids a recognizable collage aesthetic: transitions are smoothed, perspectives and image fragments merge into a unified, painterly impression. The surfaces have a watercolor-like quality – as if layers of paint were running in the air, overlapping, and thinning again. The crucial element is not the reproduction of individual scenes, but rather the creation of a continuous, atmospheric visual impression.

The secondary colors shift the tone of the series. Orange unfolds a glowing, fiery presence, violet darkens and dramatizes the scene, green creates a cool, yet unsettling tension. Thus, pyrotechnics become a vehicle for ambivalence: between fascination and threat, ecstasy and loss of control – an atmosphere that is less about looking at it than about experiencing it physically.
